Botanical Exploration in Arunachal Pradesh, India: Rare Glimpses of Plants, People, and the Himalaya

Dr. Harold Sweetman, director of the Jenkins Arboretum, will present an exciting slide show lecture highlighting his trekking adventures to one of the most remote regions of the world. Jenkins Arboretum is a botanical garden where, he says, plants will always be the primary focus. As its director, he was invited to join an international botanical expedition to Arunachal Pradesh, India in October of 2005. This remote mountainous region in the high Himalayas borders on Tibet and was never previously visited by the famous plant hunters of the past century.

This will be the topic of her illustrated lecture on February 9th. Her book will be available which she will be happy to sign for us.

They also provide funds for our speakers and for renting our meeting rooms. Bring your favorite plants to the June 14th Plant Sale and then get busy propagating more plants for the fall plant sale which will be September 13th this year. (Members only)
