& The Chapter Book
Store The Chapter Book Store is an asset
you should use. We
carry all kinds of books and publications related to horticulture and gardening. We sell them for less
than they are offered elsewhere. What we do not carry we can probably find
or get for you. What you see at each meeting is just a small sample of our
stock, limited by what we can carry comfortably. For instance, we have on hand,
at 30% discount, many of the books published by Timber Press, and
order from them almost every month. You can see their catalog at any
meeting, or get it from the Internet, and we usually can have your
selections at the next meeting. Or mail them to you when they arrive, but
you pay the postage. We have a number of books from other publishers,
priced the same way, but less easy to have or order. Copies of NARGS
publications such as the Trough Booklet and Beginners’ Booklet are also on
sale. In addition, we
have a large assortment of used books, given to us on consignment by our
members. The subject matter is widely varied. Pricing is very low,
and is based on age and condition, which also varies. These books are so
numerous that only a small sample can be brought to the meetings, but a
list is always available for your information. Copies of the NARGS
Bulletin/Quarterly back to 1968 are in our stock, along with some from
other Societies, including the Scottish Rock Garden Club, Alpine Garden
Society, Primrose Society, and others. Here again we don’t bring all the
issues to the meeting, but can provide lists if desired. These booklets
are also priced well below the usual. Where else can you get the
reading matter you want to have, at a big discount, and help the DVC at
the same time?
